Mraz Brewing Co. to team up with cancer-fighting couple in beer and food fundraiser
Cancer sucks! It’s hard to find someone whose life hasn't been impacted in some way by this horrible disease. Recently, two of our amazing customers, Gavin and Sarah were diagnosed with cancer.
Gavin, a 29-year-old chef, homebrewer and aspiring cicerone, was diagnosed with Papillary Thyroid Cancer in November. He received the news just five months after his 26-year-old wife Sarah, also a homebrewer and a recent UC Davis Law School graduate, had been diagnosed with Stage 3 Hodgkins Lymphoma.

The couple have undergone multiple surgeries and ongoing treatment since their diagnosis. During this time, they've received a tremendous outpouring of local support and now they want to pay it forward. So we’ve teamed up with them to help raise raise money for cancer research and awareness.
On Wednesday, January 28, from 5 p.m. – 9 p.m., Mraz Brewing Company will be hosting Drink Beer for the Cure! a beer and food fundraiser. Gavin will be cooking delicious pulled pork sliders with sides, and Mraz Brewing Company will be donating a portion of the proceeds from every beer sold to Stupid Cancer.
Stupid Cancer is the largest charity that comprehensively addresses young adult (15-39) cancer through advocacy, research, support, outreach, awareness, mobile health and social media
