The Cardinal Bottle Release is Today!
Today At Noon, Mraz Brewing Company will launch our first bottle run of The Cardinal.
What's All the Buzz About?
The Cardinal was one of the beers that helped launch Mike Mraz's career as a professional brewer. A recipe he crafted as a homebrewer, The Cardinal earned Mike a Maltose Falcon Award as the best homebrewer in California. In June, The Cardinal was awarded a gold medal as the best Sour-style beer in California at the 2014 California State Fair Craft Brew Fest
Starting as a Belgian Amber/Red Ale, this beer is blended, brewed with cherries and then aged in oak barrels to produce sublime notes of fruit, oak, malt and a refreshing tartness that makes for a wonderfully unique ale.
We'll be entering this batch of The Cardinal into the Great American Beer Festival, so those with a bottle may have their hands on some Mraz Brewing Company history (fingers crossed).
Festivities on the Day
The release will coincide with our monthly beer-and-cheese tasting. The Cardinal, in addtion to a variety of other Mraz beers, will be paired with a selection of artisan cheeses handpicked by Mraz Brewing Company brewmaster Mike Mraz. If you've yet to make it to a beer-and-cheese pairing, this is the perfect opportunity to experience the way a craft beer draws unique characteristics and flavors from a gourmet cheese and vice versa.
